1. Employees
are expected to use their best judgment if adverse weather
creates extreme travel hazards when traveling to or from the
workplace. They should not endanger themselves nor ignore the
statements of local officials about traveling during adverse
weather. The employee should make every effort to notify the
departmental supervisor. The advance notice requirements for
use of time off will be waived.
2. The
department may authorize use of the following options so that
staff do not suffer loss of pay:
a. Accrued
paid-time-off benefits
b. Accrued
compensatory time
c. Make
up the work on an hour-for-hour basis during the same workweek
d.
Instead of
charging an absence against the items listed above, staff may
request an absence without pay and with benefit accrual. |
