policy applies to all appointed SM staff represented by AFSCME,
Local 1477. |

Introduction
|
Staff are eligible for terminal pay of certain
accrued benefits when terminating university employment. The
amount and type of terminal pay received is entered on the Staff
Personnel and Payroll Action Form (PAF) under the section titled,
“Status Information: Eligible Terminal Pay.” The conditions
for determining terminal pay are listed below.

Benefits
received due to a voluntary or involuntary termination |
All biweekly
staff receive the accrued benefits described below, whether or
not they give or receive a notice of termination.

A holiday
that falls on the next workday following the last day worked
and unused holidays that are still available for use within
the specific time allowed.

Accrued
compensatory time off.

Accrued
vacation time up to the following maximums based on years of
service if employed through the six-month anniversary date:

In addition
to the items listed in the previous section, SM staff with more
than 152.0 hours of sick time receive pay at the following
rates:

The terminal
pay amounts in this policy are prorated by FTE for part-time,
appointed staff.
