B. How
to advertise a position vacancy
|
-
Ensure
that Human Resources Administration has assigned a classification
level. (See Policy 2.2, Position Classification/Reclassification.)
-
Ensure
that the Job Analysis Questionnaire (Job Profile for Research
Technicians) and an Essential Job Functions Form have been
completed. These must be on file with Human Resources Administration
before advertising or posting the job internally or externally. (See
Policy 2.1, Establishing
a Position.) Provide an alternate format of the position announcement
if an individual with a disability requests one.
-
Posting
and advertisement must be coordinated with Human Resources
Administration before publication.
Posting
within an occupational unit
-
If a department
anticipates filling a vacancy by promoting or transferring an
employee within the same occupational unit, it may post the
position only within that occupational unit with the approval
of Human Resources Administration. All qualified staff within
the unit are to be given an opportunity to apply.
Advertising a position
-
Human Resources
Administration must approve placement of ads in all newspapers,
journals and other professional publications before publication.
-
Human Resources Administration pays for a display ad as needed
in the Sunday edition of the newspaper and lists all newly
received monthly positions in this display ad; departments pay
for all biweekly positions advertised and any additional
individual ads.
-
All
advertising for positions must carry this tag line: IUPUI is an
Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action educator and employer and
affords reasonable accommodations to persons with disabilities.
