Emergency Preparedness at IUPUI


Fire - Pull the nearest alarm and call IUPUI Police at 911.

Disabled Person Needs to be Evacuated - Call IUPUI Police at 911 and explain where the person is, in detail.

Bomb Threats, Biological Threats (suspicious mail, etc.) Spills or Leaks Which are an Immediate Threat to People - Call IUPUI Police at 911. Do not touch/inhale item in question.

Utility Failure - Call Campus Facility Services, 278-1900.

How to Proceed - For detailed instructions on how to proceed, after the emergency call has been made for any of the above situations, go to the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Web site at http://www.ehs.iupui.edu/ehs/ and click on "Emergency Procedures."

Campus Resources - EHS has emergency alert radios (http://www.ehs.iupui.edu/ehs/emerg_radioInfo.asp ) that departments can purchase and free copies of the Emergency Procedures Handbook (http://www.ehs.iupui.edu/ehs/emerg_handbook.asp).
